My Great Gramma Delma passed today. She was one of the oldest women in the world. 114 years is a long time to spend on this planet. She was a painter and a teacher. She made the most amazing cinnamon rolls and painted purple cows and flower girls, landscapes, seascapes... I am so happy I got to say goodbye and kiss her soft cheeks. i like drawing in thick black ink that soaks into the paper. fine tips, and extra sharp pencils. when stuck artistically it helps to pick up and draw with old favorites, like doodles from grade school - reviving that carefree feeling in your hand.

I just found out my art for La Galerie Provocatrice's Winter show is featured in the current issue of Time Out Amsterdam magazine as the #2 thing to do for Valentine's Day in Amsterdam!They even did a wonderful little write-up on my art. My Great Grandma Delma will be 113 years old this Halloween. She was born in 1897 and she was a teacher and an artist.She painted purple cows, seascapes, landscapes, girls with flowers, and she was also an avid gardener and made the best darn cinammon rolls this side of the mississippi. I will be returning to the Xto Awards this year with my "Venice Beach Girl" which has won 1st place for Illustration/Body In Nature. I was lucky enough to be in NYC last year to see my piece "Bedwetter" win the grand prize for illustration. Luckily this year's show is closer to home even though driving through the night from Brooklyn to Cape Cod and seeing the sunrise was amazing last year!
